About - Pam Dawson
Pam is the "pioneer" of a pilates-type ex programme for low muscle tone. She has written a book on this programme.
Her practice is in the Link Hills Medical Centre, together with Doctors and a Dentist, on the corner of Inanda Rd and Niagara Dr in Waterfall.
She undertakes home visits in the Highway area and visits a number of Retirement-Villages regularly.

Her practice is well equipped with Ultrasound, Traction, EMS, Curapulse Diathermy, Acupuncture, a full Rehabilitation cubicle.
Her passion is working with children, in particular children with Low Muscle Tone (LMT), which is a condition of idiopathic or unknown origin. A child is born with LMT and may present with any of the following symptoms: balance problems, deficient eye-hand co-ordination, gross and fine motor problems, postural deviations and general clumsiness.
Secondary manifestations are reduced concentration, Scholastic Difficulties and Socio-Emotional problems. If correctly managed, the symptoms are completely reversible.
Physiotherapeutic management of LMT involves a careful examination in order to make an accurate diagnosis and

Clients are not billed by time spent; but rather for what modalities are used. All Major medical aid schemes are accepted. Accounts are sent directly to medical aid. Private tariffs are very reasonable, calculated by finding an average of 5 most commonly used medical aid schemes.
Pam's Book about Low Muscle Tone
Pam has completed her master's degree in research on Low Muscle Tone and wrote a book for the Parent, Teacher and Therapist, which provides a step by step guide on how the diagnosis of LMT is made. The Physiotherapeutic management of this condition is fully discussed, and exercise plans are included. The book is written in a manner that can easily be understood by the Parent, the Teacher or the Medical Professional.
